Ok, not a whole lot of news really, but Nick updated his site so in the name of competition, I had to post.
We’re only 3 weeks away from our Vegas trip. Can’t wait to see Nick and Ash, as well as Tim, Debbie and Brae. The wedding is only 5 1/2 months away now, so we feel like we’re coming down to the home stretch after an 18 month engagement. Ash is working on invitations. (Sorry Nick, it looks like you’re going to have to help make them.) She’s so creative and after seeing a mock up, I’m convinced that they’ll look terrific. Ashley also booked the Glamsquad to come make all us gals look like movie stars (ok, maybe not THAT good, but close). All the dresses are on order. So soon it will be off to Vegas to look at cakes, food, tuxedoes and the like. We can’t wait.
Danny has a new GMC Yukon sitting in the driveway. With almost 70,000 miles on the Suburban (can you say carpool?) it was time to trade it in before we couldn’t get anything for it. Now that the thrill of the hunt is over for him, he’s bugging me to change mine. I’m really wanting the Corvette, or even the little Lotus is within reach, but a 2 seater is going to have to wait for another couple of years. Can you believe that Lani and Luke will be able to get their permits a year from now? Speaking of which, Cody did not pass his driving test. Keith has graciously offered to take his to the DMV in a week to see if test number 2 will do the trick.
Super Bowl on Sunday should be fun as a main topic of conversation will be our next big trip in 2008. After cruising together last year, we decided that with a wedding in 2007 we’d wait another year. Now it looks suspiciously like we’ll be having another wedding in 2008, but we don’t care – we’re traveling anyway! Hear that TJ and Elyse? We’ve been telling the to plan small and beautiful. But TJ hasn’t popped the question yet, so we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
Nick sounds like he might be looking to bring them out west. We’d love it if they are fortunate enough to find a school closer to home. At least a car trip rather than a plane trip away.
Counting down the days to Puerto Vallarta too. Our Calgary owners put some great additions into the unit. Once we go, we’ll get some pictures to add. Right now we’ve been renting out some weeks. That allows us to talk and email some terrific people. I realized that if I could do that all day long, I’d be a happy camper. But since I work, I have limited time for that fun….so I better get back to my regular Thursday chores. This should be good for now, right Nick?
