I finally noticed comments for moderation. Thanks for the good words Lani and Ashley.
We’re ticking down the days to Nick and Ash’s graduation in May. We haven’t been in Macomb since we took Nick’s grad school trip in Oct 2003. We’re looking foward to seeing how high the corn is by then (only kidding Ashley). We’re really looking forward to seeing the school, the town, the Walmart (ok, kidding once again). Really looking forward to meeting Ashley’s parents and talking wedding talk.
Speaking of wedding, this will be an interesting one. Nick accepted a job at Georgia Tech today. That puts both of them in Atlanta for now. Sob, sob (ok, that could be construed 2 ways and both are correct!) Nick being 1,500 miles away was bad enough, but now the count goes up to 2,500 miles – or a 4 1/2 hour plane ride – or roughly $400 away. With limited vacation time, I’ve decided either to get them a web cam, or get a job where I can travel at will. Hard to express the emotions over all of this so I have to do the Talmas thing and kid about it. It really does hurt, but I guess I’ll start to channel that energy by working on the other 4 kids to help them choose vocations that will allow them to stay local. Got that kids? All my hopes are riding on you! But we really are proud of you Nick and we know Ash will get a great job there!
On a lighter note, this past weekend was another Cousin’s get together. We finally completed a round of all five residences by going to Dale and Steve’s in Simi Valley. It was great company and great food. Can’t wait for this summer when we go back to Diane’s house.
This weekend is Big Bear again. It’s supposed to snow tomorrow, so hopefully it will still be there on Saturday. Next weekend, we’ll get cruise people together again to exchange pictures. Then it’s Macomb, followed by Cody’s 17th birthday. We’ll probably go back up to Big Bear again for Memorial Weekend. We should be able to take a boat out by then. June 2nd TJ turns 23. Luke and Lani graduate Jr High on June 16th. June 24th, we fly back to Puerto Vallarta. That’s the line up for the next month or so. Hopefully we’ll post some good pictures along the way.
