We booked it almost a year ago…the cruise countdown is almost over…only 2 more days until we fly to Ft. Lauderdale and travel onto Miami. Rick wants some Cuban food. Danny wants some Rum – ok, lots of rum. Karen wants a pajama party and some dress up. Carol wants to ice skate. Jean wants to climb the rock wall. Luke wants to have ice cream everyday. All I want is to turn 50 gracefully!

After the cruise, it’s back to Dallas for 4 days for a conference. Always hard to be away from the family, but I’m hoping the cruise memories will geti me through.

Nick is off to Tacoma tomorrow, to Pacific Lutheran, for one of three on campus interviews that he got. The next week he and Ashly will travel to Univ of Nebraska at Lincoln. The week after that, it’s San Diego State. Guess which one we’re routing for? After the big job decision, we start working on wedding plans. Is everyone set to travel if it’s not local?

We should have limited internet access over the next 2 weeks, so keep those cards and letters coming folks. Happy Birthday Becky – I can never forget April 1st. Another Happy Birthday to Ashley. Her’s in on the 3rd. I wish both of you wonderful days, and many more birthdays!

We had a fun time, but Nick and Ashley flew back to IL this past Thurs. Our time started out with a trip to Arthurs – this of course came after Danny made sure to stop at In-n-Out on the way in. The next day we took a trip down to Rosarito Beach. Danny and I hadn’t been there since 1978. It rained off and on all day, and flooded out some of the roads. It took us an hour to make it back over the border. I think we’ll keep to Puerto Vallarta. This border stuff was too much for us, with kids running in the lanes and guys trying to wash our back window.

Sunday, we had Christy and Matt along with Elyce and TJ over for dinner. Matt cracked us up for a few hours. It was great fun for all.

Mid-week, we went wine tasting down in Temecula. We took Nick’s godfather, Tony Purvis with us. He has endless knowledge of wines, so it was good all around. He found a new palette in Ashley and she’s now his favorite new student. That night we had to say our goodbyes, as their shuttle came at 3:00 am. The day after their arrival back home, they travelled onto Indianapolis for another job conference. Good luck to both of you!! Once they figure out where in the country they’ll be re-locating to, they’ll set a date and location for their wedding. Stayed tuned for that news…

Now it’s two weeks left in our countdown to the cruise!!!

Surprise – Nick and Ashley are flying here on Friday. Nick wanted us to come to Chicago for a few days, but how do we leave the kiddies. Easier to bring them both here. They’ll fly in at noon on. Friday, and out the next Thursday morning. It will make a nice spring break for them to leavee the cold. Now who ordered rain here? No matter, we’ll go down to Rosarito and then wine tasting in Temecula on Weds. Can’t wait to see you guys!

Only 4 more weeks to the cruise…
